SEARCY – Two late goals from Harding junior Elliott Bracy lifted the Bisons to a 3-1 victory over 16th-ranked Fort Hays State Saturday in GAC/MIAA play at the Stevens Soccer Field.
It was Harding's third win all-time against a nationally ranked team. The Bisons defeated 22nd-ranked Rogers St. at home in 2019 and 15th-ranked Fort Hays State on the road in 2021.
Fort Hays took a 1-0 lead less than five minutes in on a header off a corner kick.
The Bisons equalized with Stefano Silva scoring on a sliding shot. Camilo Porto's cross provided the assist. It was Silva's second goal of the season.
The game remained tied for more than an hour of clock time before Bracy took a feed from Jonah Pastiroff, who stole the ball in the defensive end, and put the Bisons ahead 2-1 in the 84th minute.
Less than six minutes later, Bracy sealed the victory with his third goal of the season, again on a feed from Pastiroff.
It was Bracy's first career two-goal game.
Saturday's contest was Harding's last home game of the season and its second home victory. The Bisons are 3-9-2 overall and 3-4-2 in conference. Fort Hays State fell to 7-4-4 overall and 5-2-2 in conference.
