RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the second Golfers of the Week awards for the spring 2022 season. Henderson State's Mitchell Ford earned the Men's Golfer accolade while Harding's Abbey Bryan claimed the Women's Golfer honor.
GAC MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Mitchell Ford, Henderson State, Sr., Little Rock, Arkansas
Ford tied for fourth at the Rattler Invitational – a tournament that featured five nationally-ranked teams and seven nationally-ranked individuals. His opening-round 3-under 69 represented one of just two sub-70 scores in the first round. The Reddies' final-round 5-under par 283 pushed them past No. 4 Arkansas Tech and into fifth place.
GAC WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Abbey Bryan, Harding, Sr., Big Spring, Texas
Bryan led the Lady Bisons to their best team showing of the season - third-place - at the Tunica Cup. Individually, she also posted her best finish of the season, third, with a two-round total of 8-over par 152. Her opening round score of 2-over 74 featured three birdies and equaled her best round of the season.
