RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – In a game with 19 lead changes, Arkansas Tech held Harding scoreless for the last two minutes and defeated the Bisons 68-63 in Great American Conference men's basketball action at Tucker Coliseum.
The loss dropped Harding to 4-17 overall and 2-13 in conference. Tech won its third straight home game to move to 8-12 overall and 5-9 in the GAC.
Harding's Davis Morgan connected on a long jumper from the left corner with 2:12 left to take a 63-62 lead. Tech retook the lead on a layup by Niko Gosnell with 1:52 remaining. Harding missed a 3 on its next possession and Tech answered with a layup from Calvin Allen. The Bisons missed two more 3-pointers trailing 66-63 and Gosnell made two free throws to set the final margin.
Harding shot 38% in the first half but had nine offensive rebounds that it turned into an 8-0 advantage on second-chance points. The Bisons led 36-34 at the break, its first halftime lead in the last nine games.
Taylor Currie led Harding with 12 points. Romen Martin and Sam Henderson added 11 and Stetson Smithson scored 10.
Cam Kennedy made four of Tech's eight 3-pointers and led the Wonder Boys with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Harding is back in action Thursday at home against Southern Nazarene.
