Sierra White Earns Pole Vault All-America at Indoor Nationals

PITTSBURG, Kansas – Sophomore Sierra White became Harding's first-ever All-American in the indoor pole vault Friday, when she cleared her first three heights on the first attempt and finished seventh with a final clearance of 3.95 meters (12-11.50) at the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State.

White, a native of Aledo, Texas, cleared 3.70 meters, 3.85 meters and 3.95 meters on each of her first attempts. She missed on all three attempts at 4.05 meters, her current career best.

Kyla Davis of Pittsburg St. won the event by clearing 4.15 meters (13-07.25).

Senior Kinga Szarzynska of Harding placed 17th in the 800 meters in 2:11.89. She was in second place, the top two in each heat qualified for the finals, after 500 meters but could not hold the spot and dropped to sixth in the heat.

Kelly-Ann Beckford of Lincoln (Mo.) had the top time of the eight qualifiers at 2:08.12.

Harding has three men in competition in the pole vault on Saturday.
