The Harding women's golf team kicked off their third tournament of the Spring on Sunday with a 33-over 317 and shot a 35-over 319 on Monday to finish the second round in 14
th. Round 3 was canceled due to weather. Nova Southeastern won the tournament after identical 6-over 290 scores in both rounds left them with a 12-over 580 on Monday.
Brenda Sanchez sank two birdies in both rounds and shot a 5-over 76 on Sunday before shooting a season-low 1-over 72 in Round 2 and finished tied for tenth with a 6-over 148. Sanchez beat 16 nationally ranked players.
Alicia Martinez tied for 64
th with a 17-over 159. Martinez shot a 6-over 77 on Sunday and an 11-over 82 on Monday.
Abbey Bryan finished in 75
th with an 11-over 82 and a 10-over 81 put her at 21-over 163.
Kodie Winnings made three birdies over the first two rounds and shot identical 13-over 84 scores to finish in 82
nd with 26-over 168. Julie Ferro was the last team competitor and finished tied for 85
th with a 30-over 172 over Sunday and Monday.
JoJo Perry was the lone individual competitor for the Lady Bisons and had two of the best rounds of her season. Perry shot an 8-over 79 in Round 1 with two birdies and a 7-over 78 in Round 2 to finish tied for 55
th with a 15-over 157. Perry's 15-over 157 was the best 36-hole tournament score of her career.
The Lady Bisons will play one more tournament before the GAC Tournament. Harding will travel to compete in the Texas A&M-Commerce Invite next Monday and Tuesday (March 21-22).
