SEARCY – The second edition of the Steve Guymon Invitational cross-country meet will take place Friday at the Harding Cross-Country Course, located at 1214 Fuller Lane. The 5K women's race begins at 5:45 p.m., with the men's four-mile race to follow at 6:15 p.m.
The meet is named after Harding's former track and cross-country coach.
There will be seven women's teams in competition, including Arkansas Tech, Harding, Henderson St., Lane, National Park College, Wiley and Williams Baptist. There will also be individual runners competing from ASU-Mountain Home, Central Baptist and Science and Arts of Oklahoma for a total of 68 runners.
There will be four men's teams, including Harding, Lane, National Park and Wiley. The inclusion of individual runners from Hendrix, Science and Arts and Williams Baptist will take the total number of mens runners to 46.
Ouachita Baptist's women won the inaugural women's race last season with Harding's Nieves Megias claiming the individual championship in 18:25.8. Harding won the men's race with Luke Walling taking individual honors in 20:25.8.
