No. 16 Northeastern State Downs Harding Men's Soccer 4-0

SEARCY, Ark. – With a goal in the first half and three more after halftime, 16th-ranked Northeastern State defeated Harding 4-0 Thursday in GAC/MIAA men's soccer action at the Stevens Soccer Complex. It was the conference opener for both teams.

Harding managed six shots with three on goal. Sophomore forward Andrew Wagner had Harding's first scoring opportunity. His shot from the left side of the 18-yard box forced a diving save by the Northeastern State goalkeeper in the 28th minute.

Harding junior Stefano Silva's long-range effort in the 35th minute resulted in a save, and freshman Matthew Sanchez's blast from the top of the box in the 88th minute also drew a save from the keeper.

Defender Christian Stoner played the full 90 minutes for the Bisons, and junior goalkeeper Jared Nitz made seven saves.

Harding continues GAC/MIAA play Saturday at 1 p.m. against Southern Nazarene, 4-1 winners over Ouachita Baptist Thursday night in Arkadelphia.
