Harding Women's Cross-Country Places 23rd at Chile Pepper Festival

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior Nieves Megias was Harding's top finisher at the Chile Pepper Cross-Country Festival with three freshmen next across as the Lady Bisons placed 23rd of 31 teams. 

Megias placed 56th (48 points) in the 5K race in 17 minutes, 48.9 seconds, her fastest 5K time in 15 races of that length.

Freshman Kaia Bieker was second for the Lady Bisons and 141st overall (126 points). She finished in 18:51.6. Also among scoring runners for Harding was freshman Dinah Winders (18:52.3, 143rd, 128 points), freshman Kaylie Washko (19:04.3, 161st, 141 points), and junior Jada Trice (19:17.5, 181st, 158 points).

Sophomore Kylie Phillips was sixth for Harding in 19:23.2 (189th, 163 points), and freshman Josie Parks was seventh in 19:30.9 (202nd, 172 points).

The Lady Bisons finished with 601 points and will be back in action Oct. 14 at the Lois Davis Invitational, hosted by Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas.
