The Harding men's golf team shot an 8-over 296 in Round 1 before bouncing back in Round 2 and shooting a 1-under 287 to finish the day in third with 7-over 583 at the Battle for the Belt in Hot Springs. Host Henderson State leads the tournament at 22-under 554.
Sam Tandy opened the tournament with a 1-under 71 Round 1 which featured an eagle before sinking eight birdies in Round 2 and shooting a 6-under 66 to finish the day in second place at 7-under 137.
Leo Maciejek finished the day tied for 16th at 3-over 147. Maciejek sank six birdies over the two rounds. Jose Peralta, competing as an individual, also finished tied for 16th at 3-over 147, sinking ten birdies.
Finlay Cummings opened the tournament with a 4-over 76 before bouncing back and shooting a 1-over 73 to finish tied for 25th at 5-over 149. Jose Garcia and Dennis Staykov rounded out the Bisons performance, both posting 7-over 151 scores and tied for 33rd after Monday.
The Bisons will return to the course on Tuesday, teeing off Round 3 at 9 a.m.
