EMPORIA, Kan. – Harding had four players score in double figures, and the Lady Bisons defeated Emporia State 65-54 on Saturday in the MIAA-GAC Classic.

The win evened Harding's record at 1-1 ahead of the Lady Bisons' home opener Tuesday against Cameron.

Harding led only 51-49 with 8:38 left in the game but scored the next 10 points to pull away. Rory Geer and Sage Hawley traded buckets during the run with Geer scoring six points and Hawley four.

Hawley led Harding with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Geer added 12 points and 11 rebounds, Josie Williams scored 11 points and Katelyn Kabrich tossed in 10.

TEAM NOTES

• Harding held Emporia State to only 26.8 percent shooting after Missouri Southern shot 41.8 percent in the opener.
• The Lady Bisons held a 51-34 rebound advantage after being outrebounded in the opener.
• Harding outscored Emporia State 17-9 at the free throw line and 34-18 in the paint.

• Sage Hawley's double-double was her second of the season and 41st of her career.
• Rory Geer's double-double was her first of the season and seventh of her career ... eight of Geer's 11 rebounds were offensive.
• Josie Williams made 8 of 8 at the free-throw line ... the last Lady Bison to go 8 of 8 or better at the free-throw line was Carissa Caples (8-of-8) at Henderson St. (2/25/21).
• Harley Harbour set a career high with 10 rebounds.

• Harding leads the series 3-2, snapping Emporia State's two-game winning streak.
