The Harding men's golf team shot an 11-over 299 on Tuesday in the final round of the Natural State Golf Classic in Cabot and placed third as a team at 31-over 895. A second group of Bisons finished the tournament in 11th at 82-over 946.
Sam Tandy picked up his third top-5 finish of the season, shooting a 2-over 74 in Round 3 to finish the tournament at 2-over 218 and in fifth place. Tandy finished his tournament on a high note, making eagle on his final hole. Caleb Nichols shot a 3-over 75 and finished tied for 15th at 9-over 225.
Leo Maciejek sank four birdies on Tuesday to finish his round at 1-over 73 and the tournament at 11-over 227 and tied for 19th. Manuel Cue Vargas posted 12-over 228 and finished tied for 21st. Roby Cooper rounded out the Bisons team, shooting an 18-over 234 and tying for 35th.
Jose Peralta led the second group of Bisons with a 2-over 74 on Tuesday and just missed out on his first top-10 finish, and shot an 8-over 224 for the tournament to finish tied for 11th. Finlay Cummings sank three birdies on his way to a 3-over 75 Round 3 and an 18-over 234 and tied for 35th. Wilf Rush finished tied for 44th at 21-over 237 and Wilmer Haakansson finished 56th at 35-over 251.
The Bisons will return to the course next Sunday (April 23) as the compete in the GAC Championships in Hot Springs.
