Five Lady Bisons in Double Figures as No. 14 Harding Secures 64-56 Road Victory Over Arkansas Tech

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Aubrey Isbell scored a team-leading 16 points, and Sage Hawley had 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead No. 14 Harding to a 64-56 road victory over Arkansas Tech on Thursday in Great American Conference women's play at Tucker Coliseum.

With the victory Harding improved to 15-2 overall and 10-1 in conference. Tech fell to 8-7 overall and 5-6 in the GAC. Harding has 15 or more wins for the 17th consecutive season and 10 or more conference wins for the 11th straight season.

Isbell scored 14 of her points in the second half, shooting 6-of-9 from the field after halftime. Hawley's double-double was the 48th of her career, and it was her 50th career game with 10 or more rebounds.

Rory Geer had 10 points and 12 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season and had all three of Harding's steals. Kendrick Bailey made two 3-pointers and scored 12 points, and Josie Williams added 11 points.

Harding led by eight early and held a 15-12 lead after one quarter. The Lady Bisons held Tech to 27% shooting in the period.

Neither team shot well in the second quarter, but Harding was able to extend its lead to 27-23 at halftime.

Harding held a 27-15 rebound lead at the break and outscored Tech 9-2 on second-chance points. Tech led 8-0 off turnovers.

With the game tied 29-29, Harding's Josie Williams drilled a 3-pointer from the top of the key to start a 10-2 Lady Bison run. Kendrick Bailey hit a 3 from the left wing, and Aubrey Isbell and Sage Hawley hit shots in the paint before Tech scored again.

Tech missed its last 12 shots in the third quarter, and Harding led 41-32 entering the fourth.

Harding led by 11 on three occasions in the fourth quarter and held a 10-point lead on an Isbell jumper with 2:48 left. Tech clawed back within five late, but Harding knocked down seven free throws in the final minute to seal the victory.

Harding's next action is Saturday in Searcy against Ouachita Baptist. Tipoff at Rhodes-Reaves Field House is at 5:30 p.m.
