Freshman Duo Helps Send #20 Harding Past Southeastern Oklahoma

SEARCY – A pair of freshmen—Katelyn Kabrich and Maddi Holt—had breakout games Thursday and led 20th-ranked Harding to a 67-52 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma in Great American Conference women's action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Kabrich, a native of Tomball, Texas, made all four of her 3-point attempts and scored a season-high 17 points, and Holt, of Bergman, Arkansas, added a season-high 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Harding won its 10th straight game and improved to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the GAC. It was Harding's 18th consecutive home victory. Southeastern dropped to 4-7 overall and 0-5 in conference.

Harding missed its last 10 shots of the first quarter and trailed 13-8 after one.

Harding's cold shooting ended as soon as the second quarter began. The Lady Bisons made five 3-pointers in the period with Kabrich connecting from the left wing to tie the game at 13-13.

Harding's last four field goals in the quarter were all 3s. Holt made the first and last of the four with Kabrich and Kendrick Bailey hitting long-range jumpers in between. Holt's last 3 gave the Lady Bisons a 34-28 lead at the break.

Harding shot 13% in the first quarter and 73% in the second.

Holt tied her season-high with 10 points in the first half.

Another Kabrich 3-pointer, followed by three more points from the freshman, ignited a 12-2 Harding run. Holt ended the run with a layup along the baseline pushed Harding's lead to 49-34 with 3:31 left in the quarter.

Harding led 52-40 after three quarters.

Southeastern cut Harding's lead to only seven in the fourth, but the Lady Bisons pulled away late with Kabrich hitting yet another 3-pointer.
