Bisons Blanked: Harding Falls 6-0 to Rogers State

SEARCY, Ark. — Harding University's struggles continued Saturday as they were shut out 6-0 by Rogers State at Stevens Soccer Complex.

The Bisons (1-9-3, 1-6-0) were unable to contain Rogers State's offense, which scored in the 40th and 51st minutes to take control of the match. Noah Preston-Watkins led the Hillcats with two goals, while Sam Ryder, Brandon O'Rourke, Erik Hjertsson, and Victor Herion also found the net.

Rogers State's Declan Viljoen earned the shutout, making three saves on 10 Harding shots. Inigo Chavarria had four saves for Harding.

Harding's best scoring chances came from Nojus Grudis, who had two shots on goal, and Lesego Maloma, who had one. Matthew Sanchez also had three shots for the Bisons.

Rogers State (5-4-4, 5-0-2) controlled the second half, scoring four goals to seal the victory. Hjertsson converted a penalty kick in the 72nd minute, and Herion added a goal in the 86th minute.

The loss marks Harding's second shutout and sixth conference defeat of the season. The Bisons will look to regroup in their next match Thursday at Fort Hays State in Hays, Kansas.
