Lady Bisons Finish Runner-Up at Grace Shin Regional Preview

EDMOND, Okla. — Harding women's golf finished runner-up at the Grace Shin Regional Preview, hosted by Central Oklahoma at Kicking Bird Golf Course.

The Lady Bisons carded a two-round total of 575 (288-287), just two strokes behind tournament champion Central Missouri (573). Harding's second-round score of 287 set a new school record for a single round, breaking the mark they set yesterday with a 288. Harding's previous 36-hole record score was 590 at this year's Northeastern State Women's Classic.

Harding's strong performance was led by Pilar Martinez, who tied for first individually with a school-record 138 (69-69) but lost in a playoff to Northwest Missouri's Paige Hoffman. Martinez's 36-hole score topped the previous record of 140, set by teammate Sarah Kmiecik at the NSU tournament.

Martinez's consistent play was on display throughout the tournament, with identical 69s in both rounds. She ranked first on par-4 holes with a 3.90 average (-2) and fifth on par-5 holes with a 4.67 average (-2), also tying for third in birdies with eight.

Sydney Kincade finished ninth with a 142 (72-70), also ranking among the leaders with a 4.00 average on par-4 holes (even par). Kincade led the tournament in total pars with 29.

Madeleine Wilson tied for 31st with a 148 (74-74) and ranked third on par-3 holes with a 2.90 average (-1).

The Lady Bisons excelled on par-4 holes, tying for first place with Central Missouri at 4.17 (+17). They also ranked third on par-5 holes with a 5.03 (+1) average and recorded 16 birdies throughout the tournament.

The tournament featured 24 teams from NCAA Division II.

Harding's next action is Oct. 14-15 at the Battle of the Belt, hosted by Henderson State at Hot Springs Country Club.
