Marshall's Career High Lifts Harding Past UAFS, 82-78

SEARCY, Ark. — Rylie Marshall scored a career-high 28 points to lead Harding to an 82-78 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith on Sunday at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

The Bisons (2-1) avenged a loss to UAFS (2-2) from a week ago, when they fell 91-83 in Little Rock.

Harding took control early, overcoming an 8-0 deficit to lead 43-34 at halftime.

In the second half, Harding used a 9-1 run, fueled by Marshall's seven points, to take a 72-57 lead with 7:07 remaining. UAFS responded with a 10-0 run to trim the deficit to 75-73 with just over a minute left.

However, Harding sealed the win by making seven crucial free throws down the stretch, including two each from Wyatt Gilbert and Keyln McBride.

Marshall shot 10-of-18 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Sam Smith added 18 points, and Josh Denton chipped in 10.

Elijah Wilson led UAFS with 18 points.

The Bisons return to action on Thursday, Nov. 21, at Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Missouri.
