Lady Bisons Extend Home Win Streak to 24, Hand Southern Nazarene First Loss

SEARCY – In the first meeting ever between two top-10 ranked Great American Conference women's basketball teams, No. 10 Harding dominated from the start, handing No. 5 Southern Nazarene its first loss of the season with a commanding 77-57 victory, much to the delight of the enthusiastic Rhodes-Reaves Field House crowd.

The win marked Harding's ninth consecutive victory overall and its 24th straight win at home, elevating the Lady Bisons' record to 20-2 overall and an impressive 15-1 in conference play. Tied for first in the conference with six regular-season games remaining, both Harding and Southern Nazarene hold identical conference records of 15-1. Southern Nazarene's overall record now stands at 21-1.

Rory Geer delivered an outstanding performance, tallying 27 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including a perfect 2-of-2 from beyond the arc and a flawless 7-of-7 from the free-throw line. Geer also led the Lady Bisons in rebounds with 12, marking her first 20-point game of the season and her eighth double-double of the year.

The key to Saturday's victory was Harding's strong start, as the Lady Bisons surged to a 12-0 lead, with Geer contributing eight points during the opening run. By the end of the first quarter, Geer had amassed 12 points, propelling Harding to a 22-12 lead.

Although Southern Nazarene managed a 7-0 run in the second quarter to narrow Harding's lead to 30-22 with 3:20 left, Harding responded decisively with six consecutive points and maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.

Harding continued to extend its lead in the second half, shooting an impressive 52.2% after halftime and converting 14-of-15 free-throw attempts. The Lady Bisons' largest lead of the game was 24 points.

Contributing to Harding's victory, Josie Williams and Aubrey Isbell both chipped in 12 points, while Sage Hawley and Maddi Holt added 10 points each.

Looking ahead, Harding aims to continue its home dominance on Thursday against Arkansas Tech, with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
