Lacey Lashes Tigers in Midweek Win over Ouachita

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding continued to tack on runs in a back-and-forth nonconference battle Tuesday at Ouachita Baptist and emerged with a 10-7 victory.

Harding improved to 17-9 overall, winning its fourth straight. The Bisons return home this weekend to host Northwestern Oklahoma with games currently scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

With the score tied 7-7 after eight innings, Harding took advantage of a Ouachita error, two walks and a hit batter to take an 8-7 in the top of the ninth. Kyle Lane came on to pitch the bottom of the ninth for Harding, retired three of the four batters he faced and earned his third save.

Harding had 16 hits in the game, its third-highest mark of the season. Lacey led the way with a 3-for-6 effort with a run scored and two RBI. Michael Dewald, Cooper Newsom, Nathan Bowie, Coulton Doyle and Drew McNeel had two hit apiece.

Harding took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on back-to-back RBI doubles from McNeel and Doyle.
