Bisons Come Up Short at East Central, 77-65

ADA, Okla. — Bryce Woolridge scored 22 points to lead East Central to a 77-65 victory over Harding in a Great American Conference men's basketball game Saturday.

East Central led 39-30 at halftime and extended its advantage to 16 points with 1:54 left in the half before Harding closed the gap with two 3-pointers. The Tigers made five 3-pointers in the first half and shot 5 of 5 from the free throw line.

In the second half, Harding pulled within 54-49 on a 3-pointer by Keyln McBride with 11:22 left, but East Central maintained its lead. The Bison got within five points again at 61-56 with 4:54 left on a Sam Smith layup, but East Central answered with four straight points to seal the win.

Smith led Harding with 17 points, and McBride added 15 points. Harding shot 42.9% from the field, 11 of 28 from 3-point range and 6 of 7 from the free throw line.

East Central won its third straight game and improved to 7-9 overall and 4-6 in the Great American Conference. Harding lost its third straight and fell to 9-7 overall and 5-5 in conference.

Harding's next action is Thursday at home against Arkansas Tech.
