Harding Pulls Away for 77-65 Win Over Cameron

SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding Lady Bisons defeated Cameron 77-65, utilizing a dominant first quarter and superior performance from their bench and defense to secure the victory Tuesday.

The Lady Bisons (1-0) jumped out to a 28-12 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, leading for all but 37 seconds of the game and establishing their largest lead of 18 points in the third quarter.

Harding's depth proved key, with the bench outscoring Cameron's reserves 34-6. The Lady Bisons were also disruptive defensively, forcing 19 Aggie turnovers and converting those into a commanding 24-8 advantage in points off turnovers.

Allie Rehl led Harding in scoring with 16 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-3 from three-point range. Jalisa Walker also reached double figures with 12 points. The Lady Bisons excelled on the glass, outrebounding Cameron 41-29, led by Kennedy Stout's nine rebounds.

Cameron (0-1) was led by Madison Griggs, who scored a game-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Kloe Heidebrecht added 18 points for the Aggies. Despite outscoring Harding in both the second and fourth quarters, Cameron could not overcome the initial deficit.

Harding's next action is Saturday at home at 5:30 p.m. against Missouri Western.
