Harding Explodes for 114 points, Rolls Past Mission

SEARCY – The Harding men's basketball team exploded for 61 second-half points to roll past NAIA opponent Mission 114-55 on Saturday night at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

The 114 points tied for the ninth-most scored in a single game in program history and the most since scoring 118 vs. Wiley in 2001.

Harding (3-2) utilized a balanced attack and overwhelming depth to secure the victory. Five Bisons scored in double figures, and the bench contributed 68 points. Harding dominated the interior, outscoring Mission 50-14 in the paint, and capitalized on defense, converting 26 turnovers into 32 points.

Reggie Webster led the Bisons with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting while adding five rebounds and four assists. Martez Burse narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Dylan Hall filled the stat sheet with 10 points, eight rebounds, and a team-high six assists. Ty Suess and Karter Holland also chipped in 10 points apiece.

Mission (0-1) kept the game competitive in the opening minutes, trailing just 10-8 at the 14:37 mark of the first half. However, Harding closed the half on a dominant run to take a 53-23 lead at the break. The Bisons shot 57.5 percent from the field in the second half to extend the lead, eventually leading by as many as 59 points.

Eli'jah Smith and Jordyn Turner led Mission with 10 points each. Smith also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Mission struggled from the floor throughout the contest, shooting just 27 percent (17-of-63) from the field and 27.6 percent from 3-point range.

Harding finished the game shooting 48.6 percent from the field and 84.6 percent (33-of-39) from the free-throw line.
