McBride Leads Harding to 78-61 Win Over Southwestern Oklahoma

SEARCY, Ark. (AP) -- Keyln McBride scored 19 points and dished out nine assists to lead Harding to a 78-61 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday.

Sam Smith added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Bisons (13-7, 9-5 Great American Conference), who shot 46.6% from the field and 32.3% from 3-point range.

Stetson Smithson chipped in 10 points, including his 100th career 3-pointer, and Rylie Marshall scored 12 points, making three of Harding's 10 3-pointers.

Tobias Roland paced Southwestern Oklahoma (8-11, 5-9) with 18 points. Elijah Williams chipped in 13 points and five rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Harding used a strong second half to pull away, outscoring Southwestern Oklahoma 42-30 after the break. The Bisons also held a 33-30 rebounding edge and forced 15 turnovers.

McBride scored 11 of his points in the second half, including a pair of free throws that gave Harding its largest lead of the game, 75-57, with 1:49 remaining. The Bisons also got a boost from their bench, with Josh Denton scoring 10 of his points in the second half.

Southwestern Oklahoma struggled to keep pace, shooting just 1 of 7 from 3-point range in the second half. The Bulldogs also had trouble containing Harding's offense, which scored 28 points in the paint and 22 points off turnovers.

The victory was Harding's fourth straight and left the Bisons tied for third place in the Great American Conference standings.

Harding will look to extend its winning streak on Thursday when it visits second-place Oklahoma Baptist (13-7, 10-4) in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
