Harding Rolls Past Southwestern Oklahoma, 10-2

SEARCY -- Harding's offense exploded for 10 runs on 12 hits as the 30th-ranked Bisons cruised past Southwestern Oklahoma 10-2 on Monday, completing a three-game sweep and extending their winning streak to 11 games.

Nathan Bowie led the charge, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored. Logan Lacey added two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Harrison Griffith had a hit and three RBIs, while Seth Johnson hit his first home run of the season.

Harding's big inning came in the fourth, when they scored three runs on three hits. Lacey doubled in Bowie, and Griffith singled in Lacey and Coulton Doyle.

The Bisons added three more runs in the fifth, capped by Johnson's solo homer to right center. They put the game away with a four-run seventh inning, featuring RBI hits from Griffith, Sebastian Martinez, and Cooper Newsom.

Preston Tabor (3-0) earned the win, allowing just one unearned run on three hits in six innings. He struck out seven and walked one, lowering his ERA to 1.74. Tabor has now surrendered only four earned runs in 20 2/3 innings this season.

Ty Eastwood drove in one of the Bulldogs' two runs, while Reece Burke had an RBI single.

Bowie extended his hitting streak to five games, marking his second three-hit performance of the season.

The Bisons' efficient offense converted six of seven opportunities to score a runner from third with less than two outs. In contrast, Southwestern Oklahoma never had a runner on third with fewer than two outs.

Harding has been particularly dominant in the middle innings, outscoring its opponents 44-6 in the fourth and fifth innings this season.

With the sweep, Harding remains the only undefeated team in the Great American Conference, improving to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Southwestern Oklahoma falls to 8-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Harding returns to Jerry Moore Field on Tuesday for a nonconference matchup with Arkansas Tech. First pitch is set for 6 p.m., and the game will air live in Searcy on KVHU-95.3 FM.
