No. 18 Harding Baseball Rolls Past Missouri S&T, 22-10

ROLLA, Mo. — 18th-ranked Harding baseball exploded for 22 runs on 14 hits to defeat Missouri S&T 22-10 on Tuesday. Every player in Harding's starting lineup had at least one hit.

The Bisons' 22-run outburst marked their highest scoring total of the season. Nathan Bowie led the charge with a home run and five runs scored, while Collin Helms also scored five runs. The duo became the first Harding teammates to score five or more runs in the same game since Mike Huebner and Matt Wilson set the Harding record with seven runs apiece against University of the Ozarks in 1999.

Harrison Griffith and Seth Johnson each drove in five runs, with Griffith collecting two doubles and Johnson hitting a grand slam. Chance Resetich also homered for Harding.

In the first inning, Harding sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring five runs on just two hits. The Bisons added two more runs in the second inning, capitalizing on two Missouri S&T errors.

Harding's aggressive offense was also fueled by 13 walks, six hit-by-pitches and six stolen bases. Coulton Doyle tied a Harding record with three stolen bases.

Keaton Baird (2-0) earned the win for Harding, allowing two runs on six hits in four innings. Kyle Lane, Austin Jobe, Javier Lobo and Griffin Meeker all pitched in relief for the Bisons.

Harding improved to 18-4 overall, while Missouri S&T fell to 8-6.

Harding returns to action this weekend, hosting East Central in a three-game Great American Conference series at Jerry Moore Field in Searcy.
