Harding Baseball Jumps to No. 15 in Lastest ABCA Poll

SEARCY - Coming off a 4-0 week that included a Great American Conference series sweep of East Central, Harding baseball jumped three spots in the latest ABCA Coaches Poll to No. 15.

Harding posted a 22-10 win at Missouri S&T on Tuesday and followed that with 8-1, 4-3 and 7-5 wins over East Central at Jerry Moore Field in Searcy.

Offensively, Harding ranks second in the GAC in scoring with 8.2 runs per nine innings. Harding's pitching staff ranks in the top 10 nationally in several categories. The Bisons led Division II with a 3.90 strikeout-to-walk ratio, rank second with a 1.15 WHIP and 2.67 walks per nine innings, and are seventh with a 3.39 ERA.

Individually, Harding has several players among the conference leaders. Collin Helms leads the GAC with a .558 on-base percentage and is second with a .407 batting average. Logan Lacey leads the GAC with a .720 slugging percentage and is second with seven home runs. Maddox Long is the GAC leader with an 0.77 ERA and 62 strikeouts.

This week Harding plays a nonconference road game at Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday and a GAC road series this weekend at Southeastern Oklahoma.
