SEARCY, Ark. — The No. 15 Harding Bisons struggled to contain Missouri S&T's offense, falling 13-0 on Tuesday at Jerry Moore Field.
Missouri S&T jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. Tyler Prince singled to left field, driving in the first run, and Nick Krodinger added a two-run single later in the inning.
The Miners added three more runs in the second inning, with Garrett Meyer driving in a run with a single to center field. Missouri S&T also scored four runs in the third inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Tyler Prince.
Harding's offense was unable to get going, managing just four hits against Missouri S&T's pitching staff. Cooper Newsom, Logan Lacey and Sawyer Price each had hits, but the Bisons were unable to plate a run.
Griffin Meeker took the loss for Harding, allowing four runs on four hits. The Bisons used six pitchers in the game.
The loss drops Harding to 24-6 on the season.
Harding will be back in action this weekend as it hosts Arkansas-Monticello. The three-game series is scheduled for a 6 p.m., start Friday.
