SEARCY – Harding junior Jose Manuel Peralta was named Great American Conference Player of the Year, the league announced Sunday. Peralta headlined three Bisons earning All-GAC honors.
Harding enters the GAC Championship ranked No. 25 nationally in the latest Scoreboard NCAA Division II Rankings, the highest among conference teams. The tournament runs Monday through Wednesday at Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Peralta, a junior from Madrid, Spain, and ranked 25th individually in Division II, led Harding with a 72.82 scoring average over 22 rounds, including a low of 68 and 11 rounds of par or better. He was a unanimous All-GAC First Team selection and the program's second GAC Player of the Year, following Sam Tandy in 2024.
Senior Christian Lindgreen of Fleet, England, and junior Dennis Staykov of Sofia, Bulgaria, were named to the All-GAC Second Team. Lindgreen averaged 73.95 over 19 rounds with a low of 66 and five rounds of par or better. Staykov averaged 72.67 in 17 rounds with a low of 67 and six par or better rounds. Lindgreen also earned GAC Academic Honor Roll distinction.
Sophomore Jose Arzu from Guatemala City, Guatemala, received All-GAC Honorable Mention, adding to his Second Team selection in 2024. Arzu averaged 74.36 over 22 rounds. Senior Finlay Cummings also made the GAC Academic Honor Roll.
Arkansas Tech freshman Tobey Kim was named GAC Freshman of the Year, and Henderson State's Matt Ward was Coach of the Year. The Elite Scholar Athlete awards went to Jacob Peetoom of Arkansas Tech and Lukas Hendricks of Southwestern Oklahoma State.
