SEARCY – The Harding softball team was ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Division II Central Regional rankings Wednesday. The rankings were through last Sunday's games.
Harding has a 32-12 in region record this season.
Southern Arkansas was the other Great American Conference team in the rankings. The Muleriders were ranked second.
The top eight teams in the region advance to the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will each host three other teams on May 8-10 in a double elimination format. The winner of each tournament will then advance to the super regional, a three-game series hosted by the higher seed on May 15-16. The winner of the super regionals will advance to the Women's College World Series held May 22-28 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The Lady Bisons will be back in action this weekend as they host Northwestern Oklahoma in their final GAC regular season series. First pitch is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m.
