RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Harding softball team had four players named All-Great American Conference Wednesday in a release by the conference office. Brooklyn Gobble was named to the first team, Zoey Neal was named to the second team and Bailey Robinson and Ella Friederich was named honorable mention.
Harding also had seven players named to the GAC Academic Honor Roll: Alexis Boswell, Lana Danielson, Kyla Hill, Emaline Pearson, Kate Pierce, Logan Ringel and Tori Turner.
Brooklyn Gobble, a sophomore from Tryon, Oklahoma, led the Lady Bisons in the circle this season. Gobble had a 2.54 ERA and a 18-15 record. In 182 innings, she had 164 strikeouts and hitters hit .217 against her. It is her second time being named to the first team.
Zoey Neal, a senior from Dyer, Tennessee, led Harding at the plate. She hit .364 with a team-leading 56 hits, eight doubles and seven homeruns. She had a .552 slugging percentage. She also had 292 putouts and a .993 fielding percentage.
Bailey Robinson, a freshman from Jackson, Tennessee, is hitting .326 this season with 43 hits and 21 RBI. Ella Friederich, a freshman from Wichita, Kansas, hit .302 with 42 hits and six homeruns.
The Lady Bisons will be the No. 4 seed in the GAC Tournament and will take on Southern Nazarene at 10:30 a.m., in Bentonville, Arkansas in the first round. Opening round games will be played at Bentonville West High School.
