Harding Men's Golf Tied for Eighth After First Round at NCAA Midwest/Central Regional

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The 24th-ranked Harding men's golf team is tied for eighth among 20 teams after the first round of the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Regional at St. Joseph Country Club. The top four teams in the three-round event will advance to the national tournament.

Harding shot a 12-over 296 in the first round. The second round is scheduled for Friday, with the final round on Saturday.

For Harding, Dennis Staykov and Jose Manuel Peralta are tied for 23rd after matching 2-over 73s. Staykov finished strong with an eagle on the par-5 17th hole and a birdie on the par-5 18th. Peralta tied for the team lead with four birdies, all on the back nine. Christian Lindgreen also had four birdies and shot 3-over 74, tying for 29th.

Jose Arzu is tied for 58th after shooting 5-over 76, while Finlay Cummings, who made an eagle on the par-5 10th hole, is 7-over and tied for 82nd.

Central Oklahoma leads the team standings with a 4-under 280, 10 strokes ahead of second-place Central Missouri. Harding trails fourth place by four strokes.

In the individual competition, Jordan Wilson of Central Oklahoma leads after shooting a 3-under 68.
