MEMPHIS, Tenn.— The Harding men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Christian Brothers on Thursday, as the Buc Olivier van der Tuin scored a late goal in the 83rd minute of the season opener.
Harding's defense was stout throughout the game, limiting Christian Brothers to nine total shots, with five on goal. The Bisons' goalkeeper Caden Morris made two saves. Offensively, Harding managed six shots, one of which was on goal, but could not break through the Buccaneers' defense.
With the loss, Harding's record moves to 0-1-0. Christian Brothers starts its season with a 1-0-0 record.
The Bisons will return to action on Saturday, Sep. 6, when they travel to Jackson, Tennessee, to face Union (TN) at 7:30 p.m. at the Smith Memorial Soccer Complex.
