JACKSON, Tenn. — Harding's Jimmy Tuyishime scored his first collegiate goal with less than two minutes remaining, giving the Bisons a 1-1 at Union University on Saturday night.
The tie moves Harding's record to 0-1-1 on the season, while Union is now 0-0-2, with ties against Harding and Ouachita Baptist (2-2 on Thursday).
After a scoreless first half, Union (TN) took a 1-0 lead in the 72nd minute when Solomon Pela scored on a shot into the upper right corner.
The Bisons fought back, getting a similar shot from Tuyishime in the 89th minute to even the score. The goal was the first of the junior's 31-game career.
Harding outshot the Bulldogs 14-13, with eight shots on goal to Union's six. Both teams had five corner kicks and committed 13 fouls. Rinner Stewart made his first start in goal for the Bisons and had five saves.
Harding will return home to the Stevens Soccer Complex to take on Southwest Baptist on Monday at 4 p.m.
