Bisons Climb in National Rankings; Solorzano and Mikkelsen Move to No. 3 in Doubles

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its updated NCAA Division II national rankings on Wednesday, and the Harding men's tennis program continues to make its presence felt among the nation's elite.

The highlight of the new release features the doubles tandem of Adrian Solorzano and Cian Mikkelsen, who climbed to No. 3 in the nation. The duo, currently 12-2 on the season, remains one of the most formidable pairings in Division II as they head into a pivotal weekend of play.

Ranked Bisons

Harding's depth was on full display in the individual rankings, with four different Bisons earning national recognition across singles and doubles.

  • Doubles: Behind the No. 3-ranked Solorzano and Mikkelsen, the pair of Sebastian De Las Salas and Edoardo D'Arrigo moved up to No. 26 nationally. The duo holds a 5-1 record and has been a reliable source of points for Harding at the No. 2 flight.

  • Singles: Adrian Solorzano remains the highest-ranked Bison in singles at No. 59, followed closely by junior Caleb Folse, who makes a significant jump into the national rankings at No. 60.

Team and Conference Outlook

As a team, Harding is currently ranked No. 31 in the country. The Bisons are part of a highly competitive MIAA/GAC representation in the Top 50, which includes:

Rank Team Conference
16 Washburn MIAA/GAC
18 Nebraska-Kearney MIAA/GAC
31 Harding MIAA/GAC
38 Ouachita Baptist MIAA/GAC
46 Southern Arkansas MIAA/GAC

Looking Ahead

The Bisons face a massive "Ranking Weekend" on the road. Harding travels to Wichita Falls, Texas, on Friday to take on No. 27 Midwestern State, followed by a top-20 showdown against No. 16 Washburn on Saturday in Edmond, Oklahoma. Both matches will have significant implications for the NCAA Central Region rankings as the postseason approaches.
