RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Following a breakout performance on the road, Harding 2nd-year midfielder Katie Jones was named the Great American Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
A native of Searcy, Arkansas, Jones fueled the Lady Bisons' attack in a 5-2 road victory over Oklahoma Baptist last week. She recorded the first hat trick of her collegiate career, netting all three of her goals for the season in the dominant win. Jones was highly efficient in the attacking third, securing the hat trick on just five shot attempts.
Jones' honor keeps the GAC Offensive Player of the Week award in Searcy for the second consecutive week. Teammate Mykala Ulrich took home the same honor on Sept. 22.
Jones and the Lady Bisons will look to carry their offensive momentum into their next conference matchup as they host Northwestern Oklahoma on Thursday at 7 p.m.
