SEARCY – Junior forward Paola Eusse scored a hat trick to lead the Harding women's soccer team past Belhaven on Friday night in non-conference action, 5-0. The Lady Bisons move to 5-6-1 on the season.

It was the first time in Eusse's career that she has scored multiple goals in a game. The last time a Harding player has scored a hat trick was Chelsea Brandon on Oct. 31, 2008, against Ouachita Baptist.

It was the largest home win and the most goals scored by the Lady Bisons since Sept. 13, 2008, when Harding beat Ozarks 6-0.

In the ninth minute, Harding was fouled in the Belhaven box to set up a penalty kick. Senior midfielder Brianna Meek faked the goalkeeper out and found the lower right corner of the net to put the Lady Bisons on-top, 1-0.

Eusse got her first goal in the 11th minute when senior midfielder Sabrina Burch took a shot 30 yards out that was saved by the Blazers goalkeeper but was bobbled which allowed Eusse to clean up for the goal.

With less than a minute before halftime, Eusse found the back of the net again when freshman forward Adriana Lucar took a short corner kick to Meek which allowed her to cross it to Eusse for the goal.

Eusse received the hat trick three minutes after halftime when Lucar crossed the ball to Eusse for the tap in goal.

Meghan Przeczewski picked up the final goal for the Lady Bisons in the 50th minute when Meek hit a cross to Lucar and she quickly tapped it to Przeczewski for the goal.

The Harding defense held Belhaven to seven shots, three were on goal.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action next Friday as they travel to Florence, Ala., to face North Alabama in Gulf South Conference action. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
