ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Harding women's tennis team won its seventh straight match Thursday with a 7-2 victory over Ouachita Baptist at the Heflin Tennis Center. It was the Gulf South Conference opener for Harding, who improved to 7-0 on the road this season and 13-2 overall.

Harding won two of the three doubles matches to open play. The freshman duo of Ellie Hammons and Chelsea Hunt won their eighth straight doubles match at No. 2, winning 8-4. Harding is 13-2 at No. 2 doubles this season. Katherine Golik and Lola Pardo moved to 3-0 in doubles this season with an 8-0 shutout at No. 3.

The Lady Bisons took five of six singles matches, with all five wins coming in straight sets. Pardo won her third straight singles match and moved to within two wins of 50 career singles victories with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 2. Golik evened her season singles record at 4-4 with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 3.

Callie Huey improved to 6-4 in singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4. Hunt continued her impressive winning streak. The freshman won her seventh straight and improved to a team-best 11-1 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5. Gina Cielo won her sixth straight with a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 6.

The Lady Bisons are back in action Tuesday, Mar. 23 against Lambuth in Jackson, Tenn.
