MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Harding women's tennis team cruised to an easy 9-0 victory over Southern Arkansas on Monday in Gulf South Conference action, winning its 10th straight match. The Lady Bisons are now 16-2 on the season, 2-0 in conference play and a perfect 9-0 on the road.
Harding lost only six games in the entire match. In doubles, the No. 1 team of
Ling Chan and
Callie Huey won 8-3 and moved to 2-2 as a duo. Harding's No. 2 team of
Ellie Hammons and Chelsea Hunt won their ninth straight match together and improved to a team-best 10-1.
Katherine Golik and
Fabiola Wisnesky teamed for the first time at No. 3 and won easily 8-0.
Ling Chan moved to 7-4 on the season with a 6-3, 6-0 singles victory at No. 1. All five of the other matches ended 6-0, 6-0. Golik improved to 6-4 with a win at No. 2. Hunt won her eighth straight singles match and stands at a team-best 12-1. Huey upped her record to 7-4 with a win at No.4. Hammons won her fourth straight at No. 5 and is 9-2, and Wisnesky remained unbeaten at 6-0 with a win at No. 6.
Harding's 10-match winning streak is its longest since winning 18 straight in 2007-08.
Harding returns home Tuesday to meet NCAA Division I foe Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
