LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Harding women's tennis team finally lost a road match this season, but it took an NCAA Division I opponent to snap the streak. The Lady Bisons fell 5-2 to UALR on Monday, ending a 13-match road winning streak.
Under Division I rules, the winner of two doubles matches receives a single point. UALR took the doubles point despite a win by Harding's
Ling Chan and
Callie Huey at No. 2.
Harding picked up singles points by Chelsea Hunt at No. 4 and
Gina Cielo at No. 5. Hunt improved to 16-3, the most singles wins by a Lady Bison this season. Cielo went to 15-2, winning her team-best fifth straight singles match.
Harding is now 22-5 overall and 13-1 on the road.
