Roux, Boylu Reach Finals as Harding Shines on Day 1 of GAC Individuals

SEARCY, Ark. — Harding women's tennis advanced two players to the singles finals and pushed two doubles teams into the semifinals as it hosted the first day of the Great American Conference Individual Championships at the David Elliott Tennis Center on Thursday.

Harding senior Karli Roux made a dominating run to the Flight 1 final. Roux defeated Emilia O'Neill of Southeastern Oklahoma with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory. She is set to play Jolina Mass of Southern Arkansas in the championship match Friday.

The Lady Bisons secured their second finalist spot in Flight 4, where Ece Boylu topped Rebecca Arnold of Arkansas Tech, 6-1, 6-3. Boylu will compete for the title against Camila Corrales of Southern Arkansas.

The team also saw strong results in doubles, with two pairs reaching the semifinals, which will be played Friday. In Flight 1, the duo of Roux and Brooke Coffman will face Milana Voloshyn and Kseniya Zhdanok of Southeastern Oklahoma.

In Flight 3, Boylu and Kenna Kelley advanced after an 8-4 win over Nayara Alvarez and Evgeniya Sizova of Arkansas Tech. They will meet Adiya Abdugappar and Jenna Bohnert of Henderson State in the semifinals.

Finals in all singles and doubles flights will conclude the tournament Friday.
