SEARCY – Harding junior Jackson Savage scored his first goal of the season in the 73rd minute to give the Bisons a 2-1 victory over Southwestern Christian on Friday at Harding Soccer Field. It was the first of four straight home games for the Bisons.

Savage received a pass from Ian Park at the top of the 18-yard box and lashed a shot into the upper left corner.

Harding (4-9-1) won for the first time in its last eight games and earned its first home victory since a 2-1 win over Ouachita Baptist on Sept. 9. The Bisons improved to 3-3-1 at home this season.

After a scoreless first half, Harding senior Connor Galloway scored his second goal of the season and 15th of his career in the 55th minute on an assist from senior Austin Brown. Galloway became the first Bison to score goals in consecutive games this season. He scored on a penalty kick at West Florida on Sunday, and is now fifth in career goals at Harding.

Southwestern Christian (5-7-3), an NAIA school located in Bethany, Okla., answered right back with a goal in the 58th minute from Chris Galindo, his third of the season.

The Eagles outshot the Bisons 15-9, but managed only five shots on-goal. Harding goalkeeper Zach Auala made four saves, including the potential game-tying goal on a shot by Martin Vance in the 78th minute.

The Bisons' homestand continues Thursday as Harding hosts Williams Baptist in non-conference action at 7 p.m.
