SEARCY, Ark. — Harding University Director of Athletics Jeff Morgan has announced the hiring of alumnus and veteran coach Thom Jacquet as the new head coach of the Bisons men's soccer program.
Jacquet returns to Searcy following a historic 35-year tenure at Greater Atlanta Christian School (GACS), where he built a soccer dynasty and established himself as one of the premier coaches in the Southeast.
"We are really excited to announce Coach Thom Jacquet as our next Head Men's Soccer Coach," Morgan said. "Coach Jacquet has had an outstanding career at GACS and will do a great job investing spiritually in the lives of the young men in our soccer program. His programs have had tremendous success on and off the field and we are looking forward to his leadership and growth of our program."
A Legacy of Winning
Jacquet has served as the Head Soccer Coach at Greater Atlanta Christian from 1991 through 2026. His resume includes 410 career victories and six state championships. Under his leadership, the Spartans were a model of consistency, qualifying for the state tournament 29 times in 34 years, including a remarkable streak of 25 consecutive postseason appearances.
His teams secured 16 conference championships, made 14 Final Four appearances, and finished as state runners-up three times.
Jacquet's coaching excellence has been recognized repeatedly over the decades. He has received numerous Coach of the Year awards from the conference, county, and the Gwinnett Daily Post. On the national stage, he was named the NSCAA State Coach of the Year in both 2009 and 2014.
Returning to the Bison Family
For Jacquet, the move is a return to his roots. He holds two degrees from Harding University: a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management (1988) and a Master of Science in Education in English (1991).
"I want to thank Dr. Williams and Coach Morgan for the opportunity to return to Harding to lead the men's soccer program," Jacquet said. "I was blessed to be led by some of the finest teachers at Harding, and their mentorship and guidance helped build a foundation which has sustained me over the course of my career. I cannot wait to meet the guys and get started on our journey together and see what God has in store for us!"
Beyond the Pitch
During his time at GACS, Jacquet was deeply involved in the academic and spiritual development of students, teaching English, Bible, and Sports Performance.
He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for 30 years. They have three children: Jack, Beckham, and Maren.
