HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A win over a Division I team Saturday and a win over the No. 2-ranked team in Division II on Monday. Not a bad road trip for the Harding men's basketball team.

Sophomore Weston Jameson made six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 20 points to lead Harding to a 65-63 victory over Alabama-Huntsville at Spragins Hall. The win came two days after the Bisons upset Division I opponent ULM 71-68 in Monroe, La.

It was Harding's third straight victory over nationally-ranked teams, dating to last season. That streak began with an 82-51 victory over then-No. 4 Alabama-Huntsville in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament. The Bisons' last victory over a team ranked as high as the Chargers came in 2004, when Harding defeated No. 2 Montevallo 84-77 on the road.

Jameson's sixth 3-pointer of the game gave Harding its largest lead at 61-50 with 3:40 left. Alabama-Huntsville, who made the NCAA Division II Elite 8 last season, then went on a 10-0 run and took the lead at 62-61 when Jaime Smith made the third of three free throws after being fouled on a 3-point attempt with 1:17 remaining.

Harding (2-1) then put the ball in the hands of its best free throw shooter down the stretch. Junior Bradley Spencer made two with 51 seconds left to put the Bisons back in the lead. After a UAH miss, Spencer again went to the line and made two more to give Harding a three-point lead with 16 ticks left. Charger Josh Magette made a layup to cut the lead to one, but Spencer hit another free throw with four seconds remaining to seal it for the Bisons.

Jameson hit 7-of-12 from the field, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range. His previous career high in points was 12 last season at West Georgia. Jameson was just one of four Bisons with 10 or more points.

Junior Zach Roddenberry, who was 6-of-6 from the field against ULM on Saturday, was 6-of-7 against Alabama-Huntsville and had 15 points and eight rebounds. Spencer and DeAntra Scott both scored 10. Hayden Johnson had five points, four assists and a career-high 10 rebounds.

Smith led Alabama-Huntsville (4-2) with 20 points, while Magette had 11 points and 11 assists.

The victory for Harding gave the Bisons a slim 9-8 lead over the Chargers in the all-time series.  The teams meet again on Dec. 10 in Searcy. Harding's next action is Thursday in its home opener against Champion Baptist. Tip-off at the Rhodes Field House will be at 7:30 p.m.
