SEARCY – Harding junior Bradley Spencer scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds and led the Bisons to a 96-59 victory over Central Baptist on Saturday at the Rhodes Field House. All 13 Harding players scored in the game.
Harding (4-1) won its fourth straight overall and its ninth straight over Central Baptist, who fell to 3-9.
The Bisons held the Mustangs to only 29 percent shooting in the first half and led 38-26 at the break. Harding used an 11-0 run early in the second half to extend the lead 22 points at 50-28 with 15:31 left. The Bisons led by 16 or more the rest of the way.
Spencer scored 11 of his points in the first half and recorded the first double-double of his career. Junior DeAntra Scott came off the bench to score 12, and Matt Walters, Reed Teel and Demoine Brown had 10 each.
Harding made 10 3-pointers in the game, eight coming in the second half. The Bisons have made nine or more 3-pointers in each game this season. Harding has not made nine or more 3-pointers in five consecutive games since a streak of six straight in 2007.
Gavin McDaniel, a senior from Wynne, Ark., led Central Baptist with 18 points.
Harding outscored Central Baptist 46-28 in the paint and 29-9 off turnovers. The Bisons only had nine turnovers in the game, the first time Harding has had fewer than 10 turnovers since turning it over only seven times against Ouachita Baptist in 2010.
Harding is back in action Tuesday against Christian Brothers at the Rhodes Field House. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
