HU Women's Tennis Blanks Henderson State

Ling Chan won both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding women's tennis team opened earned its first NCAA II South Region win Tuesday with a 9-0 victory over Henderson State.

Both teams are members of the Gulf South Conference, but only the second meeting between the two teams counts as an official conference match. The Lady Bisons and Lady Reddies meet in Searcy on April 4.

With the victory, Harding improved to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in region matches.

Harding's top two doubles teams of Chelsea Hunt and Ling Chan at No. 1 and Callie Huey and Benyapa Phumtip at No. 2 both improved to 4-1 with victories. Fabiola Wisnesky and Gina Cielo moved to 1-1 at No. 3 with an 8-4 victory.

The Lady Bisons won all six singles matches in straight sets.

Harding's next action is Thursday when the team meets Hendrix and Northeastern State, the 25th-ranked team in Division II.
