Presley Sends Baseball Bisons to GSC Tournament Final

MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Harding junior Chase Presley hit a two-out RBI double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Bisons a 4-3 victory over Arkansas Tech and a berth in the Gulf South Conference Tournament on Tuesday at USA Stadium.

Freshman Matt Calhoun led off the inning with a double to center field and moved around to third on Charles Bradley's sacrifice bunt. One out later, Presley hit a line drive off the wall in left to score Calhoun and send Harding to its first GSC Tournament championship game.

Harding junior Marc McRae (4-0) pitched 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. Billy Ninemire worked the ninth for the save. Arkansas Tech (32-19) got a runner to third with two outs but could not come up with the game-tying hit.

Nate Wilder (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season, allowing two earned runs in two innings.

Harding trailed 3-1 entering the eighth before tying the game on RBI hits from Erin McCarver and Trent Kinnear.

The Bisons will take on Southern Arkansas later on Tuesday for the GSC Tournament Championship. First pitch of the title game will be at 4:40 p.m.
