HU Men's Soccer Ends Four-Game Trip in Siloam Springs

Jackson Savage and the Bisons take on John Brown on Tuesday.

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – The Harding men's soccer team will play the final game of a four-game road trip Tuesday when it meets John Brown University. The game will be played at Alumni Field at 4 p.m.

QUICK KICKS

·         Harding enters the game 3-3-1 overall and coming off a 1-0 loss to Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn., on Sunday.

·         Harding has scored eight goals in its first seven games with seven different players scoring the goals. Josh Ireland leads the team with two goals, and Ryan Wilhelm tops the team with two assists.

·         Senior Zach Auala has played every minute in goal for the Bisons and has a 1.25 goals against average and .769 save percentage.

·         Harding's next home game is Thursday, Sept. 22 vs. Lyon. Harding head coach Jeremy Bishop was the head coach at Lyon from 2002-07.

·         John Brown, a member of the NAIA Sooner Athletic Conference, enters the game 1-5-0 overall and coming off its first win of the season, a 1-0 victory over Friends University last Saturday.

·         John Brown has scored five goals and allowed 17 goals in its first six games. Senior defender Joel Thomas and freshman midfielder Luke Theimer have each scored two goals for the Eagles.

·         Sophomore Pablo Garcia has played in five of John Brown's six games and has a 3.11 goals against average and .632 save percentage.

·         Harding and John Brown are meeting for the fourth time, with Harding leading the series 2-1-0. The Bisons won the last meeting, 4-0 in Searcy in 2006. The only other meeting in Siloam Springs came in 2002 with the Bisons winning 2-1.
