SEARCY - Harding women's tennis lost only two games in a 9-0 shutout of Hendrix on Tuesday at the Harding Tennis Courts. The victory gave the Lady Bisons a 1-1 record during the fall season and dropped Hendrix to 0-2.
Harding lost just one game in sweeping the three doubles matches. Junior
Benyapa Phumtip and freshman Ali Rowden breezed through their second doubles match together, winning 8-0. Senior
Chelsea Lanier and sophomore
Katie Huff moved up to No. 2 doubles and won 8-1.
Kaleigh Wagner and
Maria Moreno dropped down to No. 3 doubles and won easily 8-0.
Junior
Benyapa Phumtip won her second singles match of the fall at No. 1 singles, earning her 25th career singles victory. Senior
Chelsea Lanier was victorious at No. 5 singles for her 45th career singles victory. Rowden played her first singles match of the season and won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. She is 10-1 in 11 career singles matches.
