DURANT, Okla. – The Harding men's basketball team will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season Saturday when it meets Southeastern Oklahoma State at the Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.
The Bisons (6-1, 1-1) are hoping to have sparkplug senior guard Bradley Spencer back for the contest.
Playing without Spencer, the Bisons lacked spark and fell 75-60 to East Central on Thursday in Ada, Okla. Harding led by seven points early in the second half, but suffered through a 24-4 run by East Central over the next 10 minutes and never recovered. Harding was outrebounded 43-24, and East Central shot 65 percent in the second half.
The loss was Harding's first of the season. The Bisons opened the season with six straight home wins and will be playing its second of five straight away from home Saturday.
Southeastern Oklahoma (6-3, 1-1) is unbeaten in four home games this season, including a 62-47 victory over Arkansas Tech on Thursday. Savage Storm reserve guard James Harris made eight of Southeastern's 13 3-pointers and scored 25 points. Southeastern held Arkansas Tech to only 23 percent shooting in the second half and 33 percent for the game.
The Savage Storm averages 7.7 3-pointers and leads the GAC in 3-point field goal shooting at 39.2 percent.
Harding leads the series between the teams 6-5 overall. The teams split two games last season with both teams winning at home.
The game will air live on KVHU 95.3-FM in Searcy with Billy Morgan and Scott Goode on the call. Links to live audio and live statistics will also be available on the calendar section of HardingSports.com.
