Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State scored 13 straight points on either side of halftime and shot 62 percent in the second half in defeating Harding 80-69 on Saturday in the regular season finale for both teams.
Harding (13-13, 8-8) led 26-21 with just over a minute left in the first half, but Henderson State (16-10, 11-5) scored four straight to end the half and nine straight to open the second half.
With the loss, Harding will be either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed in the Great American Conference Tournament that begins Thursday in Bartlesville, Okla.
Harding trailed by as much as 17 points with eight minutes left in the second half. The Reddie lead was 12 with 4:35 to go when the Bisons went on a 9-0 run in the next minute.
Zach Roddenberry scored four straight points, and
Hayden Johnson scored the next five.
Henderson State's Josh French scored four straight and the Reddies pulled away.
Roddenberry led Harding with 19 points and nine rebounds.
DeAntra Scott and
Bradley Spencer had 13 each, and Johnson scored 10.
Jonathan Fitzgerald made all seven free throw attempts, had eight assists and finished with 21 points. Andrew Ensley had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Harding made 20-of-26 free throws, including 16-of-19 in the second half.
