Box Score SEARCY – Harding baseball used two big innings late to pull away from McKendree and pick up an 8-2 victory Wednesday at Jerry Moore Field.
With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh, junior
Gabe Fyock lined a single through the right side to score
Anthony Guglielmi with the eventual game-winning run.
Kyle Atkins also had an RBI single, and
Kyler Offenbacker scored on a McKendree error as the Bisons scored three in the inning.
Harding (17-6) scored three more in the eighth as McKendree (4-17) committed three more errors in the inning. Fyock had a two-run single for his fourth multi-hit game and second 3-RBI game of the season.
Junior
Ryan Modglin (2-1) started and went seven innings for Harding. He allowed only three hits, all to McKendree senior Ronnie Calvird, and two earned runs. Modglin retired 14 hitters on ground outs and struck out three.
McKendree sophomore Ben Dallesasse (1-3) took the loss, allowing seven hits and five runs (four earned) with two walks and four strikeouts.
Harding scored first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Jeremy Bohnett scored
Chase Presley on a sacrifice fly, and Bohnett scored on a
Matt Calhoun double.
The Bisons return to Great American Conference action Saturday with a noon doubleheader against East Central.
